What Truly Lurks Behind The Shadows of The Masterson’s Lounge ?

The Infamous Masterson’s , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my recent visit at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its threshold was appalling and beyond comprehension .

Cleanliness Issues : Grimy and Abandoned
From the moment I entered , it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority at Masterson’s . The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of stale beer and neglected washrooms permeated the entire venue . Emitting a scent of a mixture of excrement , old age and illness . The bar area , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . Many guests have reported witnessing insects darting across the bar area and proof of vermin in the mastersons bar storage spaces . For a business that provides refreshments , these issues are utterly disgraceful and raise serious concerns about the sanitation of anything they serve .

However, as appalling as the state of the venue was, what truly made my experience at this place something I’ll never forget for negative reasons—was the behavior of its managers. The bar is operated by Pete Cornwell, who also holds a high-profile job as a financial oversight professional at Westpac. Unfortunately, his reputation in the business community is tarnished by a disturbing pattern of misconduct in his interactions at the pub and beyond .

During my time there, I saw how uneasy several women seemed around Cornwell. As I dug deeper , I was horrified to find allegations against him involving sexual harassment , with multiple women reporting interactions of sending indecent material . Described as overly aggressive and violating, Cornwell’s misconduct has created an unwelcoming setting for women who attend Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often seemed closer to that of a lurking threat than a genial proprietor .

Rather than addressing the issue to mitigate the damage done by her husband’s actions, she seems to endorse his behavior.
